18) Research Notes for Task 3 - 21/2/18

Prior to completing Task 3 I decided to have a read of some different texts which relate to the image I have chosen (a Daily Nice image by Jason Evans) and can illuminate my opinions further.

The five sources I've looked at so far are:

- Liz Wells, Photography: A Critical Introduction

- Lucy Soutter, Why Art Photography?

- Charlotte Cotton, Photography as Contemporary Art.

- Jason Evans, Online Photographic Thinking

- Aaron Schuman, Interview with Jason Evans

My notes for the first two books mentioned can be seen below:

My notes are basically just outlining key quotes which I found in the text which can relate to my essay of discussing discourses such as why the image has been made, the viewer of the image, and finally where it's exhibited.

My notes from the third book can be seen below, where I typed up relevant quotes for the same points of discourse.

My notes for Jason's essay and the interview he had with Aaron can also be seen below, where again I just looked for key quotes to help shape my essay.

I'm hoping these texts I've looked at will further reinforce the points I'm trying to make in my essay, and help me come to a key observation about the image I'm looking at.

I also made an essay plan prior to writing, which I have scanned in and you can see below.

Now I've finished all the prep I feel pretty equipped to write the essay, so it shouldn't be too difficult!
