The second interview I did with one of the Greenbank residents was Kerry, an individual who has been living in a van (or as he calls it, 'on-site') for his whole life. Below are the questions I asked him and his answers, and some portraits I took of him.

1) How long have you lived here? Are there any other places you've lived?

"I've been living on-site since I was 6, and been here 2 months."

2) What is your job?

"I work for NEL rubbish."

3) What is the community of people living here like?

"It's a good community, we've all got our own energy and we have a water supply, and we all just wanted to get out of society. We do need to get a postbox though!"

4) Where did you get your van from? And what have you renovated?

"I actually got the caravan from a friend, because I built a burner inside it."

I'm pleased with the questions but I feel like I could get more depth from Kerry, and since learning that he has been living this way his whole life, and he suggested looking up the Battle of the Beanfield, I feel I could learn a lot more from him so he's a great person to include in the project.

Portraits:

Overall I'm not too happy with the outcome of the portraits, I need to work on making my subject feel more comfortable around me and move them into an environment where I'd like to take their photograph. With Kerry standing in the opening of his caravan I feel it makes the shots look quite awkward. As well as this I need to try and get some images where he isn't holding or drinking alcohol, because after reflecting on the photographs this is not the kind of image I want to portray of this community. With this in mind and the interview as well, I'm going to go back to Kerry to try and speak to him more and take some better images, however I feel this is a good starting point.
