On Monday I went back to Amanda with the final shoot I did at the weekend and some other output ideas. My notes from the tutorial can be seen below.

She liked the rest of the images I showed her and we both agreed I had enough images to make the project. As you can see from my notes above she also gave me a few more artists to look at, most importantly Rob Hornstra. This is because Rob did a project called 'On the other side of the mountains' presented in a newspaper format, another output which I'm considering. I think this would be a great way to make and distribute work because it's cheaper than making a hardback book and zines, so I'm going to research Rob and newspaper formats in further blog posts. She showed me a website called 'The Newspaper Club' where you can upload your design and send off for the newspapers, and this seems like the most cost effective and professional way to present the work, so I'm also going to research this website more.

We also spoke about the text I had collected from doing interviews with the van dwellers, and I told her about the issue that these individuals have with having their portraits matching up to their interview text. Amanda suggested I could separate the text from the portraits and lay it out next to still life shots, which I thought was a great idea. I want to respect the wishes of the residents in this request, because it seems the media and news have broken their trust in this way by twisting their words and highlighting them as bad people.

Overall I feel the tutorial went really well, and we discussed me having a mock-up newspaper ready for the next tutorial to review the layout with images and text together. I'm excited to get started on building the newspaper!
