33) More exhibition organisation - 19/4/18

On Thursday Liz inquired about the liability insurance needed for the exhibition, and this conversation of emails was started:

I'm really glad this part of the process went smoothly, and the following day everything then started to go downhill. I received an email from Ariaf, one of Julz's colleagues, about me using the exhibition space, even though I thought it had already been confirmed that we could use it. I also sent over the insurance I had obtained. You can read through our conversation below:

So in the end, another colleague, Gary, visited the site and decided it was unsafe and that we couldn't use it. I was really upset when this happened, as when I visited the site with Julz everything looked safe and in order, and I saw no broken glass whatsoever. I did also try getting Julz to speak to Gary himself as he also really wanted the exhibition to go ahead, however it didn't change his mind.

Although I'm sad the exhibition fell through, I know it wasn't on my part, and it was a good learning curve to see how difficult it can be to liaise with the council. So for my next steps I need to think of a plan B for where we can have our exhibition - F Block did pop into my mind so I'm going to look into that.
