After speaking to Graci, she spoke to Jim and they managed to book the exhibition in F Block from the 14th of May running until the 18th of May. I'm really pleased we managed to think of a plan b for our group, and we then got started on creating a poster and name for our exhibition.
In terms of the imagery on the poster, we as a group thought that lots of our images together would look quite messy, so we decided on the idea of having an illustration to represent each individuals work, and then use these in the background of the poster. Being the wonderful artist Graci is, she set out to draw everyone's illustrations, which can be seen below:

An apron to signify Graci's project about dinner ladies.

Some pool balls to signify Jack's project about leisure.

A caravan to signify my project about Greenbank.

A chainsaw to signify Christina's project about tree surgeons.

An amp to signify Albert's project about crowds.

A free food ATM to signify Lucy's project about foodbanks.

Then last but not least, an illustration of the top of a mosque to signify Sam's project about mosques.
We then started to discuss name ideas, and we wanted something that would relate to how we're all exploring different communities of people, and enlightening our viewers about these groups of people. So here are a few names we thought of:
- Open Your Eyes
- In The Know
- What's That
- What's This
- Farrago (because it means 'a confused mixture')
- Hash (because it means 'a mixture of incongruous things').
In the end we decided on In The Know, we thought it was simple yet informative, and the others just sounded too simple or just wouldn't have made sense to anyone.
After deciding on how to decorate the poster and our exhibition name, me and Sam got on designing the poster, and this was our finished creation:

As you can see above, we decided to randomly collage all the illustrations to fill the page, giving an understated yet busy look to the background of the poster. We decided to lower the opacity of the drawings to bring the attention to the text first. We then added our exhibition name and all the relevant information, including dates, location and what the exhibition is about. We also made the font blue to give a bit of contrast against the black illustrations. I'm really pleased with the outcome of the poster overall, and after showing the rest of the group they were happy with it too.
So we're going to put up our exhibition in the morning of the 14th, with the opening view being that afternoon with some drinks. We also created a Facebook event to get the information out to a wider audience, and you can see evidence of this below:
